RECAP: 2016 Gold Coast International Film Festival

The Gold Coast International Film Festival wrapped up its festivities on two weeks ago on November 15th. The week long festival was filled wit interesting Q&A’s, screenings, and the attendance of many stars.

Some of the highlights from this year’s festival include:

  • Two screenings of Joe’s Violin featuring different Q&A’s after each one
  • Screening of On the Map and a Q&A with international basketball star and Goodwill Ambassador Tal Brody
  • Two sold out screenings of The Salesman

and

  • the Long Island premiere of Miss Sharon Jones, the award-winning film about the legendary R&B singer and performer Sharon Jones who passed away last week from pancreatic cancer.

Gold Coast International Film Festival

The Gold Coast International Film Festival is celebrating its sixth year this November from the 10th to the 15th. Over the course of these few days, the event will host many filmmakers and special guests and feature more than 60 films!

GCIFF has created an environment on Long Island for filmmakers and their work to be showcased. The festival has also provided the local public with a more inside view of the film industry. The annual event offers screenings, award, honorees, parties, workshops and more.
